I am Doug Warner's son that provided you my dad's works for the ASGPP. I wanted to touch base with you as I am seeking a part time Administrative Assistant that has to have some unique qualities. Psychology Training Program Administrative Assistant - Job Requirements
1) At least three years experience as an administrative assistant to an American Psychological Association (APA) accredited VA training program in psychology, with both predoctoral and postdoctoral accredited training programs.
2) Direct experience with all aspects of practicum student, predoctoral intern, and postdoctoral resident recruitment, selection, orientation to the VA and Psychology Service training contexts, processing students into the VA system and ongoing monitoring of all personnel requirements relevant to students (such as oversight of required hospital-based student training requirements), and record keeping (including maintaining APA-acceptable formats for evaluations, application and training folders, and all required documentation to satisfy APA, VA, and doctoral graduate program requirements).
3) Direct experience with the Association of Psychology Postdoctoral and Internship Programs (APPIC) on-line application portal for predoctoral intern applicants, including ability to manage and organize data from all the various tables, spreadsheets and aggregated summaries from the portal.
4) Understanding of the nature of APA-accreditation criteria and the various program requirements to meet such criteria.
5) Direct experience interacting with faculty and support staff from doctoral training programs as well as APA and APPIC, with a clear understanding of such program's expectations and specific requirements and how such relates to the administration of the psychology training program at the VA.
6) Excellent verbal and written skills, including proofreading and accurately typing 60+ words/minute
7) Expertise with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
8) College degree or currently enrolled in college degree program.
