Subject: Announcements For Recently Certified Psychodramatists
Dear All,
This is to clarify the announcements of recently certified psychodramatists. The Board does not publish a list of recently certified psychodramatists. If names appear in the ASGPP newsletter or on grouptalk it is because someone other than the Board provided those names.
For further information you can read our “Confidentially Policy” under the subject The Written Examinations at our website (www.psychodramacertification.org).
While the Board can publish such a list, we have not. The issue of publicly announcing all the names of recently certified psychodramatists is complicated. There is one deadline for sending out letters of the results on the written examination (and that deadline changes each year). However, persons schedule their on-sites at various time of the year. For example one person who passed the TEP written examination last year still has not scheduled an on-site examination. Please leave them alone and allow them to complete the process when they are ready.
Furthermore, some folks may fail a written examination and some folks may fail an on-site examination. In the past it has been very embarrassing to them for folks to say, with good intention, “Hey how come you have not announced that you were certified?”
I have attended meetings of the ASGPP when all new TEPs and CPs are asked to stand, and a person or two has stood up in that large meeting and yet at that time they were not certified. I have not said anything because I can understand how “humiliating” it would be not to stand in front of all your peers.
The Board Newsletter does offer all new CPs and TEPs an opportunity to include a bio and photo in our newsletter. About one third of all recently certified folks actually do this and two-thirds do not.
In conclusion, I would continue to encourage all those who have passed to tell their peers and the community so we can celebrate their magnificent accomplishment. I would also encourage all of you who are close colleagues and friends to contact folks directly and inquire about their certification. For the rest of us, I would ask that we be patient and let folks share the good news when, and if, they want to share good news with us.
