Dear Colleagues, just some ideas---these from an email I wrote to a colleague about what might be the elements I'd introduce most basically to a medium-large group of students and professionals at a conference workshop:
.
I think a number of basic skills are implicit in Moreno's work, and to spread the word, to begin to develop those skills, is a true blessing to the evolution of humanity. There are some basic approaches that underlie souldrama, having to do with psychodrama:
-- Valuing creativity and considering improvisation as a vehicle for getting there. Many of the people attending still are immersed in the old paradigm of education, with the expert dicating what should be learned when. The learning is thus passive and the person is numb to identifying which areas of learning are most relevant to him or her in the moment.
-- Protagonist-centered work is part of andtrogogy (in contrast to pedagogy), the theory of teaching adults rather than as children, and the main feature of androgogy is self-directed learning, learning that chooses what to learn about.
-- The most important skill is role taking that can be the basis for empathy. Perhaps consider suggesting that those who attend your workshop read "imaginary interviews" --- a paper on my website. Also, folks are welcome to translate this and other papers into their native languages.
So just helping people to get the knack of role taking is a foundation that I use from which to build the other skills
. What do you think of this? Warmly, ADam

Subject: Schedule in Fac. Psichology Satya Wacana Christian University
Dear Ms. Connie Miller,
This is Berta Prasetya, that will be in charge as the coordinator of training program on SOULDRAMA that you will be conducted in our campus, Fac. Psychology-Satya Wacana Christian University. First of all, we would like to express our deepest gratitude for your generosity and willingness to share about souldrama in our faculty. It is really such an honour to have you in our school.
I am also writing to you here to consult about the schedule that we plan to have for the training. It is still in our plan so please feel free to advice us whatever necessary to make this training works well. we also have some question about your workshop.
Here is our plan:
We would like to invites psychology students, high shcool techers who are in charge as guide and counseling teachers in their school, people who work in NGOs who work among people in conflict areas/disaster, counselors, psychology teachers all over Indonesia to join this training. We plan to have around 200 people in the training so that more people can learn from you and know about SOULDRAMA to help more people in their workplace.
We also would like to expand this workshop to a little conference that will discuss about mind, body and soul well being (sort of). It is that we would like to invite call papers from the participants who have research topics about individual well-being. We plan to invite researchers all over Indonesia to join this call paper.
Before we decide whether we can conduct our call papers, I would like to check with you first if our schedule and plan will be alright with your workshop/training.
We have your training plan from Dr. Mesach Krisetya, mentioned that your workshop/training will need 5 hours a day. How would you like to divide the session (from 5 hours a day), so that we can arrange and inform the schedule for the participant?
This is what we have in mind for the schedule, please advice us if there should be any modification:
DAy 1 (16 Nov 2009)
30 minute : Opening Ceremony
2,5 hours : Souldrama session I : group warm up
2.5 hours : Souldrama sesion II : afrernum session.
the starting hour for day 1 still not yet decided.
Day 2
8.30 - 12.00 : Souldrama session III (with break in the middle?)
12.00 - 13.00 : Lunch
13.00 - 15.00 : Souldrama session IV
15.00 - 15.30 : afternoon break
15.30 - 17.00 : CALL PAPER
Day 3
8.30 - 12.00 : Souldrama session V (with break in the middle)
12. 00 - 13.00 : lunch
13.00 - 15.00 : souldrama session VI
15.00 - 15. 30 : afternoon break
15.30 - 17.00 : CALL PAPER
17.00 - 17.30 : Closing Ceremony
We have another question about your workshop: Since we will have 15 hours of training, will it be any possibility that the participant can get a certain certification? I understand that to get the complete certification of SOULDRAMA training we may need more hours to get it, but will it be any possibility that 15 hours of training can be considered as accomplihment of certain level of your certification (maybe the lowest one?). This kind of certification/acknowledgment from you, will really help the participants to have an acknowledgment from the place they are working and from the community. And it could really help them when they return to their work place. If it is possible for them to have it,it really will be something valuable for them and we would be so grateful if you could grant it for them.
Thank you very much for sharing with us and for your help to our society. We are looking forward to seeing you and welcoming you in our school.
Warmest regards,
Berta E.A. Prasetya
