Hello Everyone
Adam reminded me I had promised to send the TSM Handouts on the Six
Safety Structures I use to start TSM workshops and groups. Here it
is. Hope it is helpful. One of them is the action sociometry that
was under discussion a month or so back. In TSM language we call it
"Hands on Shoulder" and it's clinical purposes are two-fold. One is
for people to feel connected to others in the group around their
traumas as most trauma survivors feel that they are alone in what
happened to them. The second is for people to be able to put
narrative labels to their traumas and talk about them BEFORE we put
them into action. If they cant say them, I dont believe they are safe
enough to be able to put them into action. It is a time for the
director and our action trauma teams to be able to access people for
safety before we ask them to put them into action.
Enjoy. Kate
