2009/2010 CORE TRAINING IN PSYCHODRAMA, SOCIOMETRY & GROUP PSYCHOTHERAPY

Location: Boughton Place, Highland, NY
Hudson Valley Psychodrama Institute's Core Training in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy is an intensive training experience for professionals and students in the fields of mental health, substance abuse and recovery, creative arts therapies, religion, human services, personnel management, nursing and medicine, group facilitation and education. This year-long format creates a community of learners committed to personal and professional growth. It provides a safe place in which to develop spontaneity as a director, auxiliary, protagonist and group member. We meet six times a year, Friday through Sunday.

We will begin at 8:45 AM on Fridays and end Sundays at 5:30 P.M. In December and February there will be evening training until 9:30 PM.
CEU's & Certification Hours: Core training provides 130 hours credit towards certification by the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama, Sociometry and Group Psychotherapy. Continuing Education Units provided by this training are accepted towards national credentialing by the National Association of Alcohol and Drug Counselors and are accepted by NYS OASAS, the National Board for Certified Counselors and towards re-credentialing as a Certified Group Psychotherapist.
Location & Accommodations: Trainings are held at Boughton Place in Highland, NY, home of the original Moreno Psychodrama Stage. Boughton Place is 90 miles from NYC. It is about an hour from Albany, Tarrytown, and Katonah in NY. and a little over an hour from Sharon and Danbury, CT, and from much of Northern New Jersey. It is easily accessible by public transportation and offers very affordable overnight accommodations.
Pre-requisite: Attendance at one or more HVPI intensives, 70 hours of previous psychodrama training, and/or permission of faculty.
Tuition: $2600 if your $400 non-refundable deposit is postmarked by September 15, 2009. $2700 if $400 non-refundable deposit is postmarked after September 15, 2009. Certification and Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
All HVPI workshops offer credit towards national certification by the American Board of Examiners in Psychodrama and Group Psychotherapy and can be counted toward Drama Therapy Registration. The Continuing Education Units (CEUs) provided by most of these trainings are accepted toward national credentialing by the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC), the National Board of Certified Counselors, and towards re-certification by the National Registry of Group Psychotherapists. MFT, CSW and Drama Therapy CEUs are pending. Contact HVPI for details.
