Fellow Psychodramatists:

I noticed a very interesting program that will be given on Thursday,
October 29 at 6:30 on the neurobiology of empathy and I thought that
others may find it of interest. I suggest that we attend together and
if there is interest, have a discussion afterwards much like our film
events. Please let me know if you are interested.

The program is called "Healing 360 degrees: Caring for Ourselves
While We Care For Others," and will be given at Smith Farm Center at
1632 U Street, Washington, DC. It is a few blocks from the U Street
Metro Station on the Green Line.

Dr. Shah, the presenter, has an interesting background, which includes
working with trauma victims, and is a member of the American Group
Psychotherapy Association. The announcement for the program is in the
link below. The description of the program is intriguing:

Caring for someone with an illness can present on-going stressors
that result in compassion fatigue. Dr. Shah will provide a glimpse
into the neurobiology of empathy and how we ourselves can get hurt in
the process of caring for others. He will review different
approaches to self-care and put stress into a 360-degree perspective
that promotes optimal health.

The second link is a copy of Dr. Shah's resume, which I found on the
Internet.
