Adam,I loved your discussion of "reality testing."  It hits home.  I think that many arguments, bent relationships and grumpy feelings and much violence stem from the fact that we are wired to "make shit up."  One of the things I love about Marshal Rosenburg's work is that he challenges us to sink into our hearts, let go of judgments, generalizations, and interpretations and just state the objective facts.  Turns out it's really hard to do.  He also challenges us to take responsibility for our feelings and to at least connect to our own feelings and needs and communicate this, at least to ourselves, when someone says or does something we feel hurtful or, better yet to empathize w/ the other, to imagine their feelings and needs and - if possible check it out. It's not really all that new, but he puts it in a really user friendly package.  I really love blending in Rosenburg's work with Moreno's stuff because he provides a different cultural conserve on how to communicate with others and with ourselves.  The key is that communication comes from a heart centered space....The heart space is basically the I/Thou place Moreno and/or Buber described so many years ago.  I think this is the key.peace,www.ReginaSewell.com"The curious paradox is that when I accept myself just as I am, then I can change." ~ Carl Rogers
