Hi Connie,
I just finished my doctoral dissertation examining the use of role-play in the treatment of PTSD. Role play acts as a tool for implementing polonged exposure and systematic desensitization. Lots of research supports the use of PE in treating anxiety disorders.
I can send you the litterature review from my paper, if you'd like.
Let me know !

Subject: Prolonged Exposure
Dear Friends,
Wondering if anyone has experience with the use of Prolonged Exposure (P/E) for treatment of PTSD. I may have an opportunity that involves training and use of P/E. Quite honestly, my first impression is not very inviting, but thought I would do my homework, research, and check in with the psychodrama community.
Does anyone have experience with it? Is there an adaptation that psychodrama can provide? Any thoughts...
thanks much,
Connie
