Dear Ed, the last line of your response, about taking these methods beyond the clinic, has also been a major effort of mine for over 20 years: In 1985 I wrote a monograph about using these techniques in everyday life---sort of summarized in Gershoni's 2003 anthology--- and have been active in wanting to see Moreno's ideas utilized in the many types of applied theatre (have you read my anthology about that yet, 2007? www.interactiveimprov.com/ ) in education, and other institutions. So there has now accumulated a fair amount of cultural conserve about the "some how, some way," and these in turn offer ready opportunities for amplification and development.
Warmly, Adam

Hi Adam,
Thank you for the thoughtful response to Paul Hawkin's speech. I liked this paragraph (yours) very much:
So we don't need to begin "de novo," as if nothing previously has been thought about the present situation. In fact, many good minds have given it much thought, many tools are available---such as Moreno's---to use. And yet they will need to be used, modified, revisions or refinements invented, occasionally replaced---for use by and for oneself and perhaps for others, too. This is the creative challenge.
I see psychodrama, sociometry, sociodrama as tools that can be used, modified, revisions or refinements invented, etc. I am a theorist though, in that I pretty much agree with everything Moreno created. The refinement is what I am thinking mostly about, particularly taking the tools, instruments, method, philosophy out of the clinic into the world, some way, some how, more fully. I'm compelled in this way, it is my creative energy alive.
Thanks Adam!
Ed
