Fw: Mort Satten

[HV Psychodrama]

I am unsure whether or not this was shared on grouptalk or not. 
           
                  Greetings!

                  When asked about the "meaning of life" during a psychodrama group several years ago, Mort replied that "The meaning of life," as he had discovered it, "is to create a life with meaning...that which is meaningful for YOU." He went on to say that this was not an original saying he had coined, but that its truth had impacted him.  The meaning he said he had created was "serving others--in large part, through psychodrama," which he loved and devoted his later life to sharing. When he created a life with meaning for him, he said it was then he truly found peace.

                  Mort Satten's devotion to psychodrama, alongside Dorothy, helped to heal and define the meaning in the lives of so many people in so many lands. Many of the fifteen hundred of us receiving this note today will feel the immense loss of our dear friend and mentor, Mort Satten, who at 1 p.m. today passed away peacefully with his family at his side, including his beloved Dorothy. 

                  Dorothy is resting this evening after several very difficult months. Mort is also survived by he and Dorothy's five loving children who continue to look after Dorothy. There will be a small family service over the next week or so, with a public memorial for all Mort's dear friends, students and colleagues to follow. I will send a follow-up email in coming days as the event is planned; it will most likely take place in Tucson.

                  Dorothy continues to appreciate visitors, although visits should be planned ahead and coordinated so she doesn't receive too many visitors on the same day, as she tires quickly. This week would be impossible, so best to wait at least a week to check in with her. She can also receive U.S. mail. Additionally, any email messages forwarded to me I will be happy to print out and deliver in the next week or so. We will compile all your loving messages into a book for Dorothy and their children, and encourage you to forward at your earliest convenience anything you would like included. 

                  Please do pass this information along to anyone you feel should have it, as I'm not sure how complete this email list is.
