This was on the drama therapy list serve..
Subject: National Registry of Evidence-based Practices

I have been meaning to post this for some time, regarding raising awareness of empirical effectiveness of drama therapy.

Are drama therapists aware of the federal Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration's (SAMHSA) National Registry of Evidence-based Practices (NREPP)?
Has anyone submitted a practice, or considered working towards submission?

The NREPP vets and makes available mental health practices that have been shown through research to be effective. ?Many drama therapists may be doing work that fits the bill or would fit the bill when researched. ?(I have a professor whose storytelling-for-HIV-prevention program was recently added.)? Per recent discussion with Sally Bailey, it seems very timely to draw the drama therapy community's attention to this resource.
