possible international journal

Reading the Forum of the ASGPP (on the website), I see that several people have been considering the possible advantages of combining English-speaking psychodrama communities internationally (and inviting translations into English from people practicing in non-English-speaking (as the native tongue) areas). This would support the general sense I've had that some of the most progressive advances in the field are happening internationally. The time for the USA to be thought of as the "center" is long past. Also, the costs of publishing and the numbers of readers makes it worthwhile to seek to join together in this endeavor.
The problem remains, though, of getting enough morale and group cohesion stimulated so that the flow of ideas gets onto paper. Many people are doing great work but for them writing is onerous. I often suggest several possible ways to make it easier:
    1. Co author with a colleague for whom writing is much easier. Both of you get your names on the paper; you get your ideas into print. People get to read them!
     2. Have a colleague serve as informal preliminary reviewer, and send very very rough copies, get feedback and suggestions, re-send, more feedback, have this go on in a systems-improving reiterative fashion. Point is not having to feel overwhelmed by coming up with a nice neat finished package right off. Build up to it gradually, as in the process of warming-up.
       3. Realize that people really need and want to have more tools for thinking about and doing the work, not only in therapy, but in business, education, and other settings.

     Hope this encourages things. Warmly,
Adam Blatner, M.D.
