Small businesses and entrepreneurs are gaining interest in LinkedIn.

The social networking site enables them to market their products, their services - and themselves.

LinkedIn is a business-oriented social networking site used by more than million professionals to make connections, share ideas and search for jobs 30 and business opportunities.

Yet, many people don't understand how to maximize the site for business.

"For the average person, LinkedIn is one of those things that ebbs and flows," says Katie Felten, an account manager for Patient Care who does LinkedIn training locally. "One week they're doing it, and then they don't use it for three months. You have to be consistent. You have to work it like all your other networking."
