That's interesting.
I find "my plate is full" (as some friends say) and I am reluctant to take the time to join or participate as it is a reach to keep up with grouptalk. I don't have much to advertise, nor much opportunity to make use of others promotional material, though I have been good about passing it along to dramatherapy listserve from grouptalk, or vice versa. But I will decrease my role as networker as time passes as I want others to do this also.
Still, it is nice to see many of you exploring these frontiers. Warmly, Adam

Subject: Facebook and LinkedIn
Both Facebook and LinkedIn have the possibility of forming groups, like grouptalk but with more specific details about each member (that comes along the registration). In my opinion, LinkedIn is better to promote and foster professional links, and Facebook is better to form informal groups with friends or with some topic of common interest. For instance, facebook tends to be very popular in Portugal, a small country with a lot of emigrants. My young emigrant friends that lived in China, Australia, Brazil and so on tend to use very enthusiastically this tool.
If you all agree I can form a group in any of those sites (or both) to we all be linked in a different way, better informed between each other (with pictures, CVs, etc). It's very easy, but it all depends on each individual efforts to learn to use these sites, that I promise is very very user friendly.
In fact, I think it's a very good idea!
Best,
Ivo

Yes, Facebook and Linked In are two sites that have great potential for people to see what is going on. I have made many connections related to Playback within Facebook- It actually has surprised me a bit. Many people annouce things (like the conference) and groups that they want t o support and performances to go to.
For people who live in differing countries, it is an easy networking medium. The sociometric aspects of it is quite interesting. People are connecting and there is a closeness- and yet, not, as it is still a computer you are in front of-
And then it is Facebook. It comes with it, a bit of drivel....
Linked in Is lesser known, and more professional. Im not sure if people outside the states have access to it. However, I have felt that to be important for me as a way to build connections with those I might not think of.
So I would say yes-the potential is there.
