announcements target

Dear All,
   I was chatting with Lorelei Goldman in Chicago and she wondered if announcements might 
be profitably placed in social media sites such as Facebook. I had no ideas about this, 
but it occurred to me to share the question: Would any potential workshop attenders find 
information on facebook or some other source other than on grouptalk?
        What do you think?
