Hi pals, our dear ex-executive editor of our Journal at Heldref for 25 or so years, Helen Kress, kindly sent me an article in the Washington Post August 17, and I copied it for text. (I just realized this moment I could have saved myself a lot of work by going to the website. Duh!)
Anyway, it's about the role playing for various agencies begun in part by staff at St. E's under the work of Jim Enneis, but turned into a business by Barry Spodak, David Swink (an ex-ASGPP president around 1990), etc. The whole idea of using trained actors to improvise situations has begun to be used also in the training of medical students and other situation-skills-forms of spontaneity and role training.
This deals with threats by terrorists and others. If you're interested, I'll send it along to you. Warmly, Adam
Adam Blatner, M.D.
