Some trainers in the US and Canada require writing or a director's project as part of graduation from a training program. The Board does not have this requirement, but they do require writing an exam. Many fail questions when poorly written or answered. Some answers are clearly brilliant.

I am amazed that no written work is required in US as this is far away from
how things have developed in the UK after Zerka advised us in the 1980's not
to copy the US TEP system.

We strive here to have similar standards to the whole range of psychotherapy
modalies via the United Kingdom Council for Psychothererapy, all
psychotherapy trainings in UK require a Masters level of cpompetence and
this includes a 16,000 word plus thesis. This is also the case with all the
other European Training organisations through accreditation by FEPTO and the
  European Association of Psychotherapy.

US now seems to be majorly lagging behind the rest of the world?

This would mean that US trained psychodramatists would not be able to work
in the UK after the introduction of statutory registration of
  psychotherapists in 2011-12.

  Hi

Watching the conversation about writing with interest. In NZ we have a
requirement for a thesis to be written before sitting practical
assessment for certification. This often leads to journal articles for
the ANZPA journal with authors writing an article on their thesis topic.

My own thesis on CBT and psychodrama is currently in the
marking/revision process. I enjoyed the initial researching and writing
a great deal. I am finding the marking and revising challenging, but a
necessary part of the process I guess.

  Regards
  Jenny Wilson
