As noted, Zerka continues to require a thesis for certification even now although I'm not sureif she is still certifying people.Ed

On Aug 17, 2009, at 10:09 AM, thana ag wrote: This requirement for w written thesis went into effect in 1971 or perhaps 1972, it lasted most definetely until 1974,though it is worth finding out whether it continued for as long as Zerka was in charge of the Institute in Beacon in Beacon, which I assummed it did.. Sadly ,I can't recall articles in Journal that specified the article was a thesis towards certification in the eighties. I maybe wrong.

As far as I know, at present the Board has no requirements for any written work. This might make for an interesing socio-axiodrama at the conference, or at least a conversation hour. As I said below, the loss of our journal is due more to the dearth of submissions than to the low membership. Anath mentioned that Zerka used to ask for a thesis for certification. If this is so, it would be useful to dig those up and perhaps polish them up, update them, and post them on some website or, if we ever get around to re-starting a journal, submitting them for consideration. Anath,
Thanks for sharing that tid bit. I didn't know that, and I'm not sure if the ABE still requires it.
Would be nice to find out as we try to relaunch the journal.

  Thanks,

      Dear Adam,
Interestingly ,at the point in time when I was in training in Beacon,a new requirement for graduation was introduced: a written a thesis to be submitted or acceptance by J.L,which if accepted would be published in the Journal. Most thesis needed extra work to pass Moreno's approval.but once accepted were published .A pity that requirement was discontinued as it would've continued to serve as a good introduction of new PD directors to the community ,plus a possibility to enrich the literature by new insights/inputs.Were it not for the requirement my article on "the tretment of a stutterer through Psychodrama "would have never saw the light.
I distinctly remember grumbling about "cultural conserves" required....
