Nice to read all the interesting and interest in our upcoming
conferences.
I am on a "Conference Options Committee" to examine designs and
redesigns for 2010 and 2011.
The consultants have suggested a significant redesign for 2011, a
kind-of "Psychodrama University"
or in the language of IAGP, Academy. One of the notions to consider
is changing orientation. Not
straight to gay or gay to straight; rather - from horizontal to
vertical structures. Right now our conferences
are horizontal. Two psychologists from St. Louis came to the pre-
conference Rosalie and I offered. They
wanted more depth. Vertical structuring would offer that. Consider
a Vertical structure, called Sociodrama.
Folks could sign up for a morning and afternoon study of sociodrama,
for example, depthful learning.
Think of columns from top to bottom, kind of Institutes within the
conference itself in which concentrations
could be had. One for educators. One to work with issues of
Addiction. One Institute for Trauma resolution.
An Institute on Spirituality and Healing. An Institute on
Sociometry. An Institute on Basics of Psychodrama.
Changing orientation from horizontal conceptional planning &
structuring to vertical conceptional planning and
structuring might offer new ways to offer our work. One comment the
consultants made that I found interesting
was that the experience was like an assortment of aspects without
much "intellectual property" meaning without
much depth learning sustained within a longer experience (except of
course in the pre-conferences). Thinking
vertically - offering depth - might offer a broad range of new
learning. Ed
