Psychodrama is a natural and powerful method for helping distressed, abused, and traumatized children tell their stories, safely express strong feelings, and try out new behaviors and roles.   

 

Learning Objectives:

            --Learn adaptations of the psychodramatic method that work well

                        with children seven through twelve;

 

            --Experience action structures that allow for safe expression of children's

                        hopes, fears, and difficulties;

            

            --Develop understanding of the use of fairytales, storytelling, sociodrama,

                        personal life stories, and group-created stories;

            

            --observe demonstration of the use of group ritual and other structures 

                        for safety and containment
