Are there any folks in the Eastern Region of the USA in psychodrama who might enjoy
knowing about this, building bridges, making connections? The whole challenge of research
and writing is also very relevant to our field.
Warmly, Adam

Subject: Eastern Region Conference call for papers - HERE IT IS!
*The Eastern Region of the NADT presents:*
The 2009 Eastern Regional Conference
March 28, 2009~New York University
*Forward Momentum: Research, Licensure and Visibility*
* *
The growth of drama therapy is vital and necessary to our development and
professional standing in the mental health field. The 2009 Eastern Regional
Conference invites participants to contemplate and share on areas that
advance drama therapy forward into the future. Participants are encouraged
to share their own work in the areas of research, licensure and public
visibility, as well as new and innovative ways you are expanding the
boundaries of our profession.
Strong research is vital to our growth and inclusion in mental health
initiatives. Participants are invited to brainstorm, dialogue and present on
research that speaks to not only efficacy, but also embraces methods that
suit our field, clients, and goals. What is being done? How are issues of
methodology, control, spontaneity and artistry combined? What are the paths
for future research considerations? What of multi-disciplinary research
methods?
The addition of the NY State LCAT license is a major achievement. What can
be learned from this? What credentialing issues are other states and
professionals facing? How do we begin to address the needs and interests of
the profession post licensure? What has yet to be done? How has this
affected the scope of practice? How can we address these issues as a strong
and unified professional group?
Lastly, participants are invited to explore increasing professional
visibility. Many of our clients struggle with issues of not fully being
seen. How are you visible at your own place of employment? How can we
present ourselves more visibly to the world? What place does marketing have
in our growth and advancement? How do we market ourselves and our work, and
show our value to the mental health field and beyond? How are we harnessing
the power of social networking and the internet/media?
