Cure for cold and flu from Anne's Russian grandfather from 175 years ago. An intergenerational transmission rather than transgenerational transmis. because it is not secret, hidden, unspoken, or not worked through. or not a trauma or unfinished business.

Dear all, I have good news. Anne Schutuzenberger, our dear friend and esteemed colleague is not blind. Only partially and we hope, temporarliy. She has a haemorrage in both eyes which is currently being treated. She doesn't know how long the treatment will take-months or years. In a phonecall today with Anne, prompted by a query by Zerka who asked, "but how does she eat?"Anne informed me that she can see"around". She can see to put on the kettle, micro-wave and heater in her familiar flat in Paris. She cannot see to receive email, to write or to make phonecalls. She has someone read to her urgent emails and to send them to others. If you want to send a message urgently, only, please, mark it URGENT in big letters and her secretary will read it to her. That is the only way they know which she has to prioritize and to deal with. Nontheless, she publishes her new book,"The Pleasure to Live," or "Le Plaisir de Vivre" in March, 2009. Let's hope it will soon be translated into English and other languages. It is wonderful to think that neither Anne nor 92 year Zerka, who sends her" Memoirs of Zerka T. Moreno", for final editing February 1st to Ed Schreiber, let's infirmity nor age stop their creativity nor their productivemess towards the worldwide psychodramtic community. A Zerka T. Moreno series of three DVDs. directed by Victor Yalom, the son of Irvin D. Yalom, whom we know and love and who has massively contributed to the whole field of group psychotherapy globally with his texts. Personally, and in my humble opinion, I think the novels of Irvin Yalom are his best writing to date. His work is brilliant, in a word. They are easy to read, strangely fascinating and mesmerizing. They are truly a unique contribution to our field. Zerka's DVDs just produced are entitled."Zerka on Psychodrama"; Psychodrama in Action" and " Psychodrama, Sociometry and Beyond." These are excellent videos, now in our hands for posterity. We miss Zerka and she misses travelling the globe and meeting so many wonderful people. She is envious of all those of you involved in psychodrama through new projects, workshops and groups and wishes she could be there with us all. Of course, psychodramatically, she is and Anne too. Anne is completing her next book on psychodrama either next year or the year after. She is working on it now. What courage. To order Zerka's new DVD's contact Victor Yalom at info at psychotherapy.net or go to www.psychotherapy.net They would be good to sell in Rome at the 17th IAGP Congress, "Groups in a Time of Conflict." August 26-29, 2009, with the Pre-Congress, August 24-25, 2009. Anyone interested in organizing that? Contact Victor, I guess. And then contact the Congress to tell them your plan. For the Congress information, go to www.iagpcongress.org for the website or contact the organizing secrtariat at email: iagpcongress2009 at ega.it to register. There are 1000 people expected. Eva Fahlstrom is Pre-congress co-chair and Mauricio Gasseau is Congress Co-chair with Jorge Burmeister as current IAGP President elect. They are all our colleagues in FEPTO. We are lucky to have them and wish them and those attending, good luck for August in Roma. All the best, Marcia Karp. P.S. I forgot to tell you the best bit and my reason for writing. I had a cold this week. As did Anne. She said her Russian grandfather used to generously pour cognac into hot tea, go to bed, put a stick at the end of the bed and drink until he could see two sticks. Drunk, he would sweat in bed, fall asleep and be cured in the morning. I tried it and it works. Didn't have a stick and hoped to see two beds but alas, it wasn't to be. This was a transgenerational transmisison of a cure for cold and flu from a Russian granfather via his 89 year old grandaughter, 200 years later. Try it. Note: The tea has to be hot so you sweat in bed.

Assunto: Call for Robert Elliott Workshop

;

Dear Colleagues,

The Research Committee of FEPTO held a meeting in Portugal, in the weekend
of 3-5 October. As an outcome of this meeting, it was stressed the need to
motivate for research, both among and within the Institutes. To “build up a
motivation”, we thought about:

* “special conferences for trainers to learn about using research
tools”;
*   “courses to train the trainers to teach research”;
* “one delegate of a training institute at the annual meeting should
take the responsibility for research issues and bring the information back
to his/her institute”.

It was therefore decided to organize a workshop, inviting all the FEPTO
members to participate through a delegate (someone who is already interested
in research, or someone who, even though not directly connected to research,
will assume the responsibility for the implementation of a research
project).

This workshop is planned to be held either in Glasgow or in Edinburgh, in
2009 (February 13/14/15). On February 14th, we would have Robert Elliott
with us, teaching us how to do a case study research on psychodrama.

However, in order to develop this plan, we need to know your interest and
who might want to register. So, please fill the attached form and send it to
me before November 4th, in time for us to make a decision at the Council
Meeting.

I hope to hear from you soon.

All my best,

Gabriela Moita
