The First Conference on Expressive Arts Therapy in China was held in
Suzhou in 2007. It is still fresh in our memory. There were more than 600
experts in the field of expressive arts gathered together from all over the
world to share their expertise with us. They greatly enriched our field of
psychotherapy.
Expressive arts therapies were well utilized during the 2008 major earth
quake in China. It was easily accepted by the clients and was very effective
in the treatment of trauma victims.
In recent years, psychotherapeutic work has been blossoming in China.
Many idealistic young individuals are joining the profession. It seems that
expressive arts therapies have been more effective than merely using language
as a form of communication.
So in order to better improve expressive arts therapy in mainland China,
to provide a chance for experts over the world to exchange information and
learn from each other, we have decided to hold the Second International
Expressive Arts Therapy Conference in Mainland China.
Fxperts from more then 10 countries including the USA, Germany, Japan,
Sweden, South Korea, Singapore and Argentina will be invited. Therapists and
professors from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan will also join us to share their
expertise. Not only will they present research papers and reports, they will
also provide superb workshops to demonstrate the techniques and power of
expressive arts therapy. This will also provide a great opportunity for
mainland Chinese scholars to exchange ideas.
